Commarin is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in eastern France.

The most remarkable building in Commarin is the château, parts of which date back to the 14th century. Château Commarin is the charming residence of the present Comte De Vogue, who works very hard to present the ancient quarters of his family home to the public so beautifully. There are wonderful guides, who are mostly English speaking, but the notes in English are good. The tapestries and portraiture are wonderful, as is the stables, old kitchens and moat. We really enjoyed the views of the entire chateau, a living as well as a historic complex, as we walked around the moated gardens. We had a delicious lunch and a glass of wine on the terrace in the late summer sun following our visit , and loved the great selection of books on the Enlightenment available. It was a beautiful drive from Dijon, and a memorable visit. Nearby Chateau Neuf is also a charming visit to combine with seeing this brilliant chateau, both places can be visited in one day easily.
