Platt Bridge in Wigan, is a residential area to the south of Ince-in-Makerfield and North of Abram. After many pub closures the one that is left is "Kesses". It has a long-established traditional barber shop "The Barber Shop or Mike's" opposite the Community Centre, Walthew Lane. There are a few main shops such as the famous "Shergills" although this shop has changed hands a few times it is still known as this, a Co-Op, an Iceland Foods, and a car wash. The Post Office has Handymans Store next door once owned by "John Roberts" who is now deceased, but it is run by his sons still. There is now a precinct with a few more shops such as Galloway bakery, one stop shop a chippy and a betting office. McDonalds is also in Platt Bridge on Liverpool road.
