Noiseau is a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 16.8 km (10.4 mi) from the center of Paris.
The city of Noiseau is located in the township of Ormesson-sur-Marne part of the district of Nogent-sur-Marne.
This seigniorial land belonged to Lord Griveu in the 13th century, to the house of Bouteillers, to Senlis in the 15th century, to the Viole family in the 16th century, of whom Denis de Viole built a castle there; in 1754, then Guillaume de Noiseau in the 18th century, this place has known many lords but few major upheavals.
The birth of Noiseau dates back to the dawn of the 13th century, to the year 1228 exactly.
In 1706-1707, Henri François de Paule Lefèvre d'Ormesson bought the seigneury of Noiseau, to enlarge his domain. He also owned the neighboring seigneuries of Amboile, Ormesson-sur-Marne and La Queue-en-Brie.
The land was bought during the Revolution, and the castle demolished in 1801.
For a long time Noiseau remained a small rural village whose main activity was agriculture (cultivation of wheat and beets), to which have been added since the industrial revolution of the 19th century, a few small businesses such as the distillery, the brickyard or small trades such as laundry.
The only witnesses of a bygone past: the Briarde farm, still in operation and the church, destroyed then rebuilt in the 1830s with the old town hall and a school room.
