As London grew in population, the centre seemed to move westward, particularly for the more affluent of solciety. This is upstream of the City, and thus upstream of sewage and other avoidable problems, including disease. There are several huge areas of Asian communities, particularly around the westbound A4 arterial route.

This has produced and enormous variety in foods and tastes. Some of the best meals can be obtained west of central London.

Heathrow Airport is also in West London. West London stretches as far west as the M25 motorway

The magnificent Kew Gardens are located here as well as many magnificent views along the banks of the River Thames, especially in the old Chiswick vilage.
