Miribel is a commune in the Ain department in eastern France.

Miribel is a commune in the Ain department in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in central France, about 13 km from Lyon. It is part of the urban unit of the regional capital. It also belongs to the natural region of the Coastal even if its territory extends well beyond the hillside, the hamlet of Échets is rather on the edge of the plateau of the Dombes, unlike that of Mas Rillier which is on the hillside itself.

It is the capital of the canton of Miribel: the latter, which is part of the arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse, comprises eight communes. It is a northeastern suburb of Lyon. There are two railway stations in the commune: Miribel station for trains to Lyon, Ambérieu and Chambéry, and Les Échets station for trains to Lyon and Bourg-en-Bresse.
