Ostheim is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

Watered by the Fecht river, this martyr town of the 2nd World War is the ‘gate to the region’ and still has an old city wall (crowned with a stork’s nest) sole testimony to the fighting of the Liberation.

Ostheim is the front door of the Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr, in the department of Haut-Rhin. City martyrdom of the Second World War, it is a typical Alsatian village entirely rebuilt after 1944, and has preserved its fights of the Liberation crowned a wall of a stork's nest.

Located nine kilometers from Colmar, Ostheim is crossed by the Fecht, which rises not far away, and boasts a unique landscape and rich. 785 listed soon, the village is of ancient origin which, unfortunately nothing left following the systematic shelling of neighborhoods in the Battle of the Colmar Pocket.

Historically rich, the village has Ostheim still today a certain charm with its typically Alsatian houses and good atmosphere.
