Meymac

Meymac is a commune in the Corrèze department in central France.
The commune lies just south of the Millevaches Plateau and northwest of the Cantal mountains.
The Luzège has its source in the northern part of the commune; it flows south through the middle of the commune and crosses the town.
The Triouzoune forms most of the commune's eastern boundary.
During the Hundred Years' War it was pillaged by Rodrigo de Villandrando.
You will discover its old historic city around the abbey Saint-André, the sloping roofs of blue slate, the front of granite of its houses of character in a remarkable natural environment mixing forests, peat bogs, paths ways, vast spaces and amazing points of view.
On these highlands you will appreciate a "Country" in charge of art and history, rich in sports and cultural activities for all the generations: hikes, equestrian, mountain bike, discoveries of the nature, the archeology, the art contemporary, workshops for children, guided tours of the city, the church, the remarkable trees and the peat bog of longeyroux.
