Laguépie is a commune in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region in southern France.
Laguépie is situated at the confluence of the rivers Aveyron and Viaur and at the tri-point of the departments Tarn-et-Garonne, Aveyron and Tarn. On the opposite, left bank of the Viaur is the village Saint-Martin-Laguépie, which is in the Tarn department. Historically part of the province of Rouergue (now the Aveyron department), Laguépie was added to Tarn-et-Garonne in 1808.
The houses crowd the banks of two rivers and climb the hills in a picturesque setting, dominated by the castle of Saint Martin Laguépie.
Appreciated for its attractive location : close to Great Cultural sites all services and shops, as well as its tourist infrastructure (recreation area and swimming along rivers, a paradise for fishermen, many accommodations and restaurants.) at Laguépie green tourism finds its meaning, "Living in the country" is heaven.
Climb the path that leads to the castle and discover the tumultuous history of the lords of La Guépie. The castle retains superb architectural elements and the visit offers a magnificent view of the Viaur valley and the villages.
