La Canourgue is a commune in the Lozère department in southern France. It is sometimes known in French as "La petite Venise lozérienne", the Little Venice of Lozère.

The commune served as a location for the 2006 film A Good Year.

The history of the town is rich in twists and turns: built around one of the 5 monasteries of Gévaudan and a castrum of which remains the "castle" district, the village has for millennia been one of the most important towns in Gévaudan. Famous throughout the ages for its canons, its burial chapel of Saint-Frézal, its wool-weaving inhabitants, the town then hosted tanneries and taweries. The streets still bear this exceptional story today.

You will find at La Canourgue, labelled "Stopover Village", all the necessary shops and services: pharmacy, grocery store, doctors, bakeries, butchers, real estate agency, medical house. Youth is not left out: kindergarten and primary school, secondary school and even a high school specialized in fish farming.

Throughout the year, many festivals and events milestone the village's life: Truffle Festival in February, Singles' Fair at Easter, and many traditional festivals during summer.
