Njivice is a village that is located in West Croatia on the island of Krk and has a population of 1,115 inhabitants as of 2011. It is part of the municipal administration of OmiĊĦalj that is located approximately six kilometres away northward along the coast.
The village Njivice is located in the northwest of the island Krk. Right at the coast, the western part is gazing upon the Mediterranean Sea and the interior of the village embraces the surrounding forest landscape. In close proximity to the village the remains of the Roman settlement Fulfinium as well as a basilica from the fifth century can be found.
Beside the construction of the hotel Luka (today Jadran), the villa Dinka is also part of the beginnings of tourism in Njivice. Beautiful beaches, an extraordinary blue sea, a lot of shady places and a pleasant climate paired with a lot of opportunities to stay, are the main reasons that attract visitors. This results in Njivice getting more recognition each year.
