Cumwhinton, as many locals will tell you, is a pleasant enough little village which nestles in a valley some three miles south-east of Wetheral.
Note the red sandstone built houses hereabouts ...the sandstone having being quarried locally.
There is no church here, but it is known as a caring village with prayer mettings weekly taking place in different people's homes.
The famous Settle-Carlisle railway line passes through the village.
