Bodensdorf lies in the sunniest region of Austria.
Bodensdorf and Steindorf are located at the Ossiacher See, the sunniest region of Austria. Nowhere else in Austria the sun smiles so abundantly from the sky, as here.
The region offers in good years more than 2100 hours of sunshine. Moreover the Ossiacher See, and the surrounding streams, is so clear that the water is of drinking quality, and thus can be drunk without hesitation.
Several mountain sports are offered in the area of Bodensdorf. Wonderful hiking trails around the lake, or take the lift up to the Gerlitzen, and enjoy the view.
The Ossiacher See offers that many possible water sport, that a week's holiday here is simply too short. Especially in the summer the sun makes the lake delicious for a cooling down, and even a thunderstorm over the lake is worth seeing. This is such a place where you come as a child and as an adult have only good memories.
In the original parish of Carinthia, a medieval castle and a romantic church were build instead of the Roman buildings.
The Tiffen Parish Church dates from 1076 and was in the 15th century with a Gothic style enriched.
The Baroque influence is from the 18th century.
