Uderns lies between Fügen and Ried in the heart of the Ziller valley.

Uderns is home to 1,700 inhabitants and lies close to the Zillertalstraße road and the Zillertalbahn railway, both of which run the length of the valley. The Zillertalbahn sometimes still operates steam engines. Uderns is popular with holidaymakers who enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking.
