Kaltenbach is a municipality in the Schwaz district in the Austrian state of Tyrol.
Kaltenbach lies in the central Ziller valley on the left bank of the Ziller, across from Stumm. It was originally a farming village, with some small-scale mining of the local rock for the healing oil which was extracted from it and exported.
Kaltenbach is a popular holiday destination throughout the year. In winter, skiers and snowboarders enjoy the excellent pistes on offer in the large resort of Hochfügen-Hochzillertal, while families and beginners prefer the quieter Spieljoch ski area.
