Telfs is a market town in the district of Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol, 27 kilometres (17 miles) west of Innsbruck. It is the third largest municipality in Tyrol. Telfs received its status in 1908 and maintains its own district court.
Telfs itself has a population of around 14,000 and is, after Innsbruck and Kufstein, the third largest municipality in Tirol. It can be easily reached from all directions and is therefore an excellent base for excursions to the regional capital Innsbruck. However, Telfs itself also has plenty to offer.
