Vent is surrounded by many mountains over 3,000 m, the highest in the Ötztal Alps, including the Wildspitze and the Similaun. As early as the 19 th century, mountaineers would use Vent as a base for hiking up to the nearby summits. One of them was the famous priest and alpine pioneer Franz Senn.

The little mountaineers' village in the foothills of Talleitspitze summit is located at an altitude of 1,900m and has preserved is charming character over the centuries.
