Reith bei Seefeld is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 12.3 km northwest of Innsbruck and 3 km south of Seefeld in Tirol . The village was founded in 1350. At that time stone oil was found and is used for healing purposes until now.

The village prides itself on a wonderful position above the Inn valley floor. From the small village park in the centre the alpine panorama on the other side of the Inn stretches from the Zillertaler Alps to the east to the Stubaier Alps in the West. And behind the village the mountains of the Karwendel National Park, which extend into Germany, can be seen at their southern extremity.

The area of Reith also includes the hamlets of Leithen, with some beautiful old buildings, and Auland, which adjoins Seefeld. Both major road and rail links make Reith easily accessible, but as both lie below the village, it is easy to miss the attractions of this small settlement.

Like Seefeld and Scharnitz, Reith bears witness to the history of the trade routes over the mountains. However, like its neighbour Zirl in the valley below, many of the historic buildings have been destroyed by fire - the parish church of St Nicholas, for example, dating from earlier this century.
