Located in the Silvretta Montafon ski area and at the foot of Piz Buin, Gaschurn is a traditional village that has managed to retain its authenticity despite tourism. The busy village is an ideal base for exploring the area and is set amongst stunning scenery.
The Montafon Valley offers 243km of skiing, with Gaschurn's Silvretta Montafon the largest ski area - boasting 152km of piste.
The Silvretta Montafont can be accessed from Gaschurn and offers 114km of slopes. Plus there are also links to Hochjoch ski area.
Garschurn is the most challenging area in the valley as it has a host of red runs and difficult blues. Most of its runs also have a 300m vertical and above treeline.
Advanced skiers will also love the off piste opportunities with difficult and steep trails that run into the central valley.
For freestylers, there is a snowpark, The NovaPark, which has a half pipe and boarder cross.
Gaschurn is lively at night with numerous bars in the centre that are hugely popular for those looking for a party. Recommendations are the Sternbar at Nova Stoba situated at the mountain station in Gaschurn.
Non skiing activities in the area include hiking (270km of hiking trails), Nordic walking (13 routes) and snowshoeing. There is also an adventure pool "Mountain Beach" with natural spring water and a public outdoor pool in Partenen and the Rifa climbing garden.
