Set in a churchyard looking like a lawn, and looking across to the big house which has something left of the manor house of long ago, is the old church with a tower and spire nearly 600 years old, proud of one of the oldest ‘singers’ in Derbyshire, for one of its bells has been ringing as long as the tower has stood.
The most remarkable thing in the church is the list of vicars, with a continuous run of four for nearly two centuries...the first two of which served in total 119 years in the same place.
