Norbury is a delightful village in green country by the River Dove, with a deep-cut shady lane climbing to the church in company with a fine yew, on one hand the charming manor house of the Fitzherberts, mostly rebuilt in the early 18th century, its grounds spread round the churchyard.
Here, built after an unusual plan, with a low embattled tower between two chapels on the south of the nave, is one of Derbyshire's most charming churches. It has an outstandingly lovely chancel and a wealth of old glass equalled by few villages in the country.
